Tony Snow has taken the reins of the White House Press Corps and seems to be holding his own. The first thing any White House Press Secretary has to deal with is Helen Thomas. My good friend Don Surber says Helen deserves respect for having been in the White House Press Corps for so long, but as John Huston said in Chinatown, "Ugly buildings and whores all get respectable if they last long enough." Thomas is nothing more than a crabby old woman on a personal vendetta. Age and experience mean nothing if they aren't combined with class and civility.
UPDATE: Will Franklin thinks Tony Snow is doing a good job. I'm inclined to agree. I don't want to dump on Scott McClellen, he's a good man who had a hard job, but he always had an air about him that made him seem like a hostage who feared for his life.
