All Bodies Are Not Created Equal

If you have some time today, read Peter Huber's piece in the City Journal about the future of medicine and how a "one size fits all approach" (i.e. socialized medicine) just won't work. Bottom line: everyone's biochemistry is different and thusly we all react differently to medications. Scientists are figuring out new ways to makes prescription medicines that are attuned to the biochemistry of certain patients, but to accomplish this will take a herculean effort, more of an effort than government run health care can ever hope to achieve.

Unless of course it's not about curing disease but instead about the acquisition of power. I know, I know, give hope and change a chance.
